La parola “isteria” trova la sua origine nella parola greca per utero, collegando la malattia mentale al ciclo femminile. In fondo ad un pendolo un groviglio di ferro getta un’ombra che prende la forma della silouette dell’allegoria femminile della follia. Quando il pendolo è a riposo sotto la luce del faretto/luna l’ombra si legge; ma quando mosso, le oscillazioni rendono la figura distorta, frammentata ed irriconoscibile.		The word “hysterical” takes its origin from the Greek word meaning uterus, creating a connection between mental illness and the female cycle. On the end of a pendulum hangs a knot of twisted steel which casts shadow: the shadow is the silhouette of the female allegory for Folly. With the pendulum at rest the spotlight/moon casts a readable shadow image. But when moved, the oscillations distort and fragment the shadow beyond recognition.
